Arturo Alvarez Biography

Arturo Alvarez has always had a strong interest in advising and mentoring youth. Over the last fifteen years, Arturo has volunteered his services to the YMCA including as a camp counselor, and most recently as an adviser to the Jury Trial Program of the YMCA Model Youth & Government Program. Arturo has also given his time, as a youth mentor, to the University of Southern California’s EOP Upward Bound Math & Science Program and to the University of California, Riverside’s Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP). Further, while in college, Arturo mentored about fifty newly admitted students as a resident advisor about the challenges of college life.

Working in the nonprofit sector for three years, Mr. Alvarez developed expertise in project management, stakeholder outreach, and community engagement. He coordinated and delivered bilingual public presentations at public town hall meetings, and translated the organization’s informational materials for its Spanish-speaking stakeholders.

Mr. Alvarez received a B.A. from Cal Poly Pomona and a J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School. While in law school, Mr. Alvarez was selected as a Business Roundtable Scholar by the business law faculty. Admitted to the California State Bar in 2010, he was also licensed as a California Real Estate Broker in 2011. The same year, Arturo achieved the designation of LEED® Green Associate.
